The LIU Name History
Liu is one of the most common surnames in China. It originated from a piece of Chinese history that arose more than 2000 years ago. The emperor Bang Liu reunited a fractured china, saved the people from relentless warfare and suffering. He took the initiatives to focus on the welfare of his people, achieved the ultimate peace, stability and prosperity. His empire became one of the longest lasting empires in Chinese history.
Two thousand years later, Penny Liu carries that name and its rich history to New Zealand. Continuing with her ancestry traits, L I U Legal was born.

Penny is a wide-ranging lawyer and her areas of speciality include everything from purchase and sale of businesses, franchising, licencing, commercial leasing and shareholders’ agreements to wealth protection, trusts, relationship property agreements, estate planning and Immigration.
Penny spends a lot of her spare time upskilling and learning. Penny’s depth and breadth of knowledge is unparalleled, and she is not only an invaluable resource to her clients, but to her colleagues. She is practical and efficient while at the same time a champion of the fine details and she hates nothing more than to have missed something, no matter how small.
Penny is the only lawyer in Wellington who speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin fluently.
